Reimbursement of the costs of taking care of a child is the possibility to obtain — following a previous documentation — funding of some costs incurred in connection with taking care of a child:
- A child or children up to six years of age (and if this is a disabled child up to seven) or
- A dependant meaning a person who requires constant care because of health or age, and is connected with family ties, kinship or resides in the same household with the unemployed.
People eligible to apply for the reimbursement of the costs of taking care of a child
You can apply for the reimbursement if you meet the conditions below:
- You are unemployed and bring up at least one child below six (and if the child is disabled, below seven) or take care of a dependant,
- You commence employment or other paid work,
- You are referred to internship, vocational training of adults or training,
- Your monthly revenues do not exceed the minimum remuneration.
The period when you are eligible to receive the reimbursement of the care costs
- If you commence employment or other paid work, you will be eligible to receive the cost reimbursement for up to 6 months,
- If you are referred to a traineeship, vocational training of adults or training, you will be able to receive the reimbursement of your costs of taking care of a child throughout the whole period of them.
Formalities connected with obtaining the reimbursement of the care costs
If you want to apply for the reimbursement of the costs of taking care of a child, you should submit an application with enclosures confirming the costs incurred by you (e.g. an invoice from the nursery school) to the competent Poviat Labour Office.
